Agriculture didn't always cause inequality.
This ancient 'city', located in Turkey existed for over a millennia as its inhabitants hunted yet also practiced various forms of agriculture. It is notable for the lack of any evidence of inequality.
I guess that their culture/social practices must of maintained equality while many other cultures slipped into hierarchy as they developed agriculture.
