@realitygaps thanks for steering our spaceship so gracefully away from the odd black hole.

Next weekend, there is a transformative cities event in #amsterdam organised by @TNInstitute
https://dezwijger.nl/programma/transformative-cities/
"How do citizens solve global problems with local solutions?
"Around the world people are finding local solutions to global problems. New citizens coalitions are winning municipal power from Barcelona and Madrid to Jackson, Mississippi; embracing the term ‘fearless’ to show their willingness to take on entrenched power."
If one prints&distribute a shirt with a cc-by-sa design. Does one also need to share the source for the t-shirt?
Home is where my harddisk is.
Apparently it's an old joke. New and fresh to yours truly
Happy 'night of the barricades' everyone under 50.
Thanks for the flying cobblestones everyone over 50.
#Mai68
See for instance Milou en mai.
Especially @h and anyone else who's interested in the French 'revolution' of 1968.
I never seem to be in the mood to watch a Louis Malle film. But once his dark, quirky characters have invaded the screen, I find myself wishing the movie would never end.
Too bad he left us before TV series made a comeback.
The best skills I've learned are those which have helped me unlearn.
Large BBC sound effects library is now available for free download for personal, educational, research & non-commercial use
There are about 16,000 clips
Still working on editing star photos, slowly, because I fell asleep, but here's a time lapse. I caught a couple meteors, but probably should have gone out earlier, and to a darker place (2 sleepy 2 drive etc)

Portland, OR; PDX Rad Movie Night, Part Deux http://dlvr.it/QQRzj0
I've finished a few books, but I've never started any
When I finish a book, a period of time passes (between a week and a year) and then, at some point, I'm reading a new book.
I have no idea how it happens. I know it's impossible for me to start a book, because when I actually make an effort to, I fail. But one day I'll suddenly find myself in the middle of reading a book. I wish I knew what the process is so I can help speed it along.
All dressed up and nowhere to celebrate....
.... my 1st full year on Mastodon.
We are testing a #hubzilla instance at https://hub.weho.st if anyone is interested in trying it, feel free!
#hubzilla is a #decentralised facebook type thing, it also federates with #diaspora and #mastodon
bear in mind, we are still testing so dont put anything important there just yet :)
Linguistics joke
"—When fear steals over us there is nothing to do but strike first. It's difficult since we don't even know in which direction to strike. But better attack than be attacked
—isn't that an old saying? If one strikes often enough and hard enough perhaps one may save oneself. There is an old joke about a fencer who was so dexterous he managed to keep dry when it rained: he swung his sword against the falling raindrops and prevented them from falling on him."
Kallocain by scifi poet Karin Boye 1940
I was in the woods, walking, and noticed the place where the path diverged into two. I won't throw Frost at you. What I want you to notice is that someone has overturned a tree stump, and placed a round table top on it, and left two glasses, now filled with rainwater. Also, a bowl filled with acorns to share. This is the place to consider your options, apparently, and perhaps dine with the Ghosts of the Wood. I pondered my choice, and ventured left. As in politics, as in life. #smallstories
Who here would find it easier to cook if recipes were laid out as flowcharts?
Reading Kallocain (Karin Boye, 1940). Starts out very simple, linear, a bit like drone music. Slowly drawing me in now. Yeah, like drone music.
