Hmm, so allows booting your own messages. Now sure what to think of that.
a) not sure why you would want to repeat yourself
b) kinda noise in other peoples timelines
c) a way around the lack of pinned toots?
d) technically not circumvention, you can always retoot your message.

@webmind I did that today, because I tooted something in the middle of the night and I knew few people who would have been interested were likely to have seen it because of time zones and such.

If I'd been able to put a time-delay on the toot last night I would have just done that instead. ๐Ÿ˜€

@HerraBRE why not just do the toot later when you boosted it?

@HerraBRE @PhiLho aight. valid points. My first association was more self promotion, but there are indeed valid reasons to repeat one-self in this non-time-synced world :) cheers.

@webmind A legit usage I see (in Twitter, same here) is to make the toot appear again half a day later, which can be nice for people on the other side of Earth.
Sometime, things get lost in the middle of a long stream.
It is particularly useful to announce a webcomic update, for example.

@webmind i sometimes retweet my stuff on birdsite to reach people on different timezones .

@webmind Twitter always allowed this. At least only once.

@webmind No harm in retweeting in the afternoon for a better audience that which you sent at 2am because you couldn't sleep
