Hmm, so #mastodon allows booting your own messages. Now sure what to think of that.
a) not sure why you would want to repeat yourself
b) kinda noise in other peoples timelines
c) a way around the lack of pinned toots?
d) technically not circumvention, you can always retoot your message.

@webmind A legit usage I see (in Twitter, same here) is to make the toot appear again half a day later, which can be nice for people on the other side of Earth.
Sometime, things get lost in the middle of a long stream.
It is particularly useful to announce a webcomic update, for example.

@webmind No harm in retweeting in the afternoon for a better audience that which you sent at 2am because you couldn't sleep
@webmind I did that today, because I tooted something in the middle of the night and I knew few people who would have been interested were likely to have seen it because of time zones and such.
If I'd been able to put a time-delay on the toot last night I would have just done that instead. 😀
